cobraman,
Ever fished for carp and buff? 65# buffalo caught there last month by a fellow TFF'er. Week before that there were 3 Buffs caught in the 40's there. Some nice carp are caught there as well. If you're interested, check out Rough Fish Section. They're fishin' 3 day weekend I think.

carp suck...haha, get it...
Anyways, we have fishing it twice in the last month, pretty slow, but fish can be caught in the grass on CB and senkos....I am sure with all this warm weather it will turn on some....

Where are the best places to find grass beds? I usually fish near the hula hut? Color of cranks and senkios that might work? Thanks for the tips. Looks to be a nice day tomorrow, low wind for once.

Fished the city park stretch of lake ausitn today from 8am-noon. I saw several good fish in 4-6 lb range basking in the sun in 3-5 feet of water. Many more in the 1-2 lb range. All in or around the grass. Water temp was 62-64 degrees and wind was 1-5 MPH. Tried a variety of pastics and CB's. Unfortunately I got skunked. Would the line diamater/lb test play a role? I was using 10-12 lb co-polymer on most rods, 8lb on the wacky worm setup. Well it was a great day to be outdoors, better than working for sure!

Keep fishing near the Hula Hut. Those docks should hold some descent fish.

I will work the Hula Hut area next time. Pitched watermellon/red trick worms wacky style on 8lb test but no takers. Did not concentrate on the docks as much as I should have.
