If it is a north or south wind? Not much...alot of this depends on where you launch and what your fishing....if its a good south wind and you launch on the ft worth side....the dam offers good cover and good fishing...but the "mid lake humps are out of the question...saying that...a west wind ruins that...15 mph is pretty rough!

Actually, thinking about it, it takes a lot for me to not feel safe. 25+ is my guess. If anything, the wind can be a pain in the rear as opposed to being in a dangerous spot. Then it just depends on how often I have had to fight the wind recently. On the weekends I have seen it rougher just from boat wakes as opposed to wind.

Im getting out of work early and thinking of hitting the lake today. They say the wind is going to be blowing pretty good. I drop in at Lakeview usually. Maybe I ll go to H1 and drop in. I just can't wait to fish again. Been a while. Thanks for the input guys.

When the weather man says anything above 20 then it means it will really be 30. Most of the weather sites are really bad about predicting the wind. The only one that is even in the ball park on wind is the aviation site and it even under shoots its wind prediction a little. My boat can take a lot higher wind than I can. The best way to tell if it is safe ask yourself is it safe if my motor takes a dump. If the answer is no then don't go because your motor can take a dump any time you go. Johnny

I'll throw my anchor on a mid lake hump in just about any wind if I'm catching them.. Just don't anchor from the stern.. lol.. I do believe the last time it was that windy was the day Karl and I had the spot all to ourselves.. My boat takes rough water better than most and the only time I've felt uncomfortable is in a small boat off shore with weather blowing in.. I just keep it down around 30mph to keep more of the boat in the water and hit the waves at the right angle when I can..

Yeah Kris looks pretty dang windy out there. I got to go out to the boat anyway, but I'm pretty sure I won't make it out there today. Looks bad.
