Good Morning Belton Bunch..... and Have a GREAT MONTH this month.

We went out yesterday looking for a fight and the fish won....

It was nice seeing and chatting with Sandy & Pauline on the water too. Since my hip is almost gone (getting it replaced when my pacemaker is completed) it is too painful to throw a cast net right now so fishing with shad is impossible. Emmett at 83 is too old to be throwing it as well (lol I'd be fishing HIM out of the lake) so we'll have to stick to slabs.

Fighting the wind was hard enough in that little Tracker, but it was STILL a GREAT day on the lake. Beats sitting home anyday.

Ya'all be blessed....

Ramp is fine but when I put in there friday the dock was unusable and I would think it still is now.

You are right dbones, not too many of we originals still hanging around. F4F are hanging on 'another; fishing site, but visit occasionally.

TB is still around when he isn't out playing Soldier. (I am VERY proud of his accomplishments as a Soldier, Father, husband, Boy Scout Leader, Christian and my Son... can you tell? lol)

I'm going to try and get out a little in the morning. I have to ge as much fishing in as I can before my pacemaker procedure next Friday...

Let me know if you are going out, I'll be in a tracker with a 60 HP motor on it... Say HI..

Hi J,

I've always had good luck using a half ounce Chrome with Blue or Black top, Rattle Trap. For trolling I use a 'Gray Ghost" or a deep diving Rappela in a Silver Shad .

Hope that helps a little.. happy fish

Vicki and I went out to the lake for a bit yesterday and caught a LOT of fish. Mostly LMB and SMB and she caught two Buffalo fish. I threw back more than I kept, but I had promosied the lady across the street that I would bring her some fresh fish, and being a man of my word, I ended up giving her 7 which should help feed her family.

Her son came over to get them for her and they were still alive as I put them in a bag. They were a flopping, lol. Jeramiah is @ 8 years old and tried to put up a brave attitude even if his fear infused eyes told a different story.

On the way back across the street the fish once again started flopping around. Jeramiah couldn't let loose of that bag quick enough as he ran into his house yelling the fish tried to 'Bite" him.... His smaller brother came running over to me and as Vicki and I rounded the corner of my house, his Mom was coming out of the door, all of us bending over and laughing our hineys off.

It was pretty cute and we agreed that he NEEDS more exposure to fish and fishing in the near future.

So take a young kid fishing and get delight in the wonderment in their eyes as they hook on to their 'monster fish' and overcome their fears. Later in life they may return the favor.

Ya'all be Blessed

Managed to get out some yesterday after the storms passed through and was glad I did. Caught over 50 fish (released 40 of* of them)and had a ball.....

Biggest was a 4 pound 4 ounce 23 inch Smallmouth which was a LOT of fun. Even the smallest ones put up a BIG fight, so you can imagine that I had my hands full.

At dusk the birds were flying, whites were chasing the shad around TLP....

All in fun... The banks at TLP looked like an outdoor Ampitheater.. People were sitting in chairs just watching the action.....

Hope you all got out and got lucky...

that will make the mutual of omaha indian shed A tear.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

I agree and believe that it would make ANY outdoor lover, sportsperson or good human being shed a tear. It IS a disgrace how much disregard people have for our land and water.
