Investing in a couple of Crappie rod and reel setups. Nothing too hi-end, just stuff that customers can handle and take some wear. Hi vis line, reels, basic jigs, etc.
Would like to hear some opinions, Thanks!
Going to start practicing my Crappie skills....

8' Pro Angler, cheap baitcaster or spinning real. Some slab bandits, rocky tops or hand tieds like SlabmeSillys in white/chart black/chart and you should be good to catch fish.

It may happen every now and again, probably in concert with Large Hybrids.

Asking for equipment help, not debating one fish over the other. You asked, I told you.

5.5 foot Shakespeare Amphibian spinning reel combo. Cheap and sturdy. The line that comes on that reel is okay at best. Something in a hi-vis, 6 or 8 lb test would be a good choice to respool with.

I am looking for a crappie guide on Bridgeport. Know of any? No I really don't, A few have toyed with the idea of it. There are more than enough nice Crappie in the lake to go around. I keep loose track of what I net when casting for Shad (5-6 days a week), the number of 7-11 inch Crappie caught (and released) is astounding.

I am an advocate of the ProAngler rods for sure and I think you will find many on here that are. Good backbone, sensitive tip and price won't break the bank. Personally I like spinning reels for jigging and am using the Mini Lite Reels by Bass Pro and I think they are on sale right now for about $14. Makes for a very light rod/reel combo. However, if you are buying for new users the underspin reels might warrant a thought. Mr. Crappie hi-vis line is my favorite.
