Talked with a biologist that was taking fish surveys this week and he said their findings were very positive..All fish including crappie seemed to have a healthy population of fish.

I think the fish have learned to adapt. I fished 4hrs Sunday a week ago and caught 9 bass with 3 keepers biggest 4lbs

CB, I'm boatless now, but I'm thrilled to hear that. I've given up on GB for the time being and sold my boat. Backlash, GB was getting really good about 1.5 yrs ago and Golden Algea killed a lot of fish in the lake... I dont think there's a lot of crappie fishing going on out there now... it can be a great lake though. It's worth a try based on mr. borden's comments about the biologist. Work the docks.
 I don't live for the thump, but I sure do like it.

Oh and he said that it appeared the bass and crappie spawned a month ago and in deeper than usual water. He also said the catfish population is some of the best he has ever seen as far as numbers are concerned.In a couple weeks I'm going to leave the bass rods at home and spend the entire day checking the docks that held huge numbers a couple years ago.

That's what I was thinking that with the water warming sooner that normal the crappie have spawned in deeper water
