Never fished an H20 but I can tell you with great certainty that the cheap Abus are pretty much garbage. I've heard nothing but good things about the H20 reels.

I have a Largemouth at home....sometimes she lets me go fishing.

i have used the Mettles and they will cast a mile...nice reel for the price. I have never used the black max, but I do have a pro max - 79.00 reel on a rod I didnt use too much and I have no complaints with it...landed quite a few 3-4 lbers with it....just have to tweak it right so the thing doesnt bird nest on you....after that ..your good

Out of those 2.....Mettle for sure.

I would watch and wait for a Used Citica or Curado. Even used they will be better reels!

Like Crankbaits, Worm, Spinnerbaits..etc You might want a different gear ratio for these different applications

I bought a Mettle after owning some real cheapo's... And it was like an entirely different fishing experience. Though I have no experience on any of the abu garcia reels. I am highly pleased and would buy another one.

I've heard good things about the Mettles but have never used them. I have two black max reels from the early 90's that still work like a champ. I haven't used the new ones but they look good. I would be worried about parts one the Mettle if it broke.

If it breaks carry it back to Academy, they'll replace it.

I have 2 and they are good reels for the $.
