hit lavon this afternoon with Rudy. We launched the yaks around 5:30pm and fished till dark. All fish were caught in shallow water on roostertails and jigs. I caught lots of doubles with the jigs. best action was when they surfaced. They did that off and on from 6pm till dark. shad were leaping out of the water. 2 man limit plus 1 crappie

from now through mid summer the sandies regularly surface before dark around the island, usually on the northwest side. they will be pretty shallow, driving shad towards the banks. you can launch close by at the park. i have caught several limits there from the yak. Be careful coming around the south and east corners of the island, people haul ar$$e through there.

In case he forgets to tell you guys, I caught most of the first limit, all on roostertails, before he figured out how it all worked, but once he cleared that hurdle, KaLuB flat out smoked 'em!

don't make come smack you. i wasn't catching as many at first because I was too busy putting your fish on the stringer. once i decided to just toss them in the back of the boat it was on!
