Cedar Creek Lake Tuesday April 10th - Billy Seamen invited Eric Emeritz and I to do some fishing with him today. First thing on the agenda was to check out his troll motor to try to find the problem that he experienced on his last trip. The second thing on the agenda was to replenish his freezer with some sand bass fillets and maybe a few hybrid fillets. The third on the agenda was to hit some docks and catch some crappie for his family dinner one night this week. We accomplished all three goals but the first was not what we were hoping for. It turned out that one of the three batteries (36 volts) was bad so now we were going to have to fish without the troll motor. Troll motor or no troll motor was not going to stop us from fishing so we headed to spill way humps. Marked some fish at 18 feet so in go the anchor and after 2 1/2 hours of fishing with 70 quality sand bass and 5 legal hybrids it was time for lunch. So with the 2nd agenda accomplished, we pulled anchor after lunch and headed to some docks. After about an hour, 3rd agenda accomplished with 16 nice crappie. All the sand bass and hybrids caught on silver shad slab with some vertical jigging but majority caught casting out, working the slab off the bottom on a slow retrieve back to the boat.

Thanks Billy for the invitation. It was a great trip with outstanding fellowship.

As most all who read TFF know that Billy does some guiding on CC so if you or you know of someone who would like to go catch some fish and have a good time doing it, give him a call at 972-768-1811. He is a great fisherman and you will not regret fishing with him.

Billy, I am sorry that you haven’t caught a hybrid. Just hang in there, you will get one.

If I hadn’t had to dip these hybrid, I might have caught another one.

Fishing makes these guys hungry!!!!!

I called DEnnis Christian earlier this morning and he said where he caught fish the day before, so we went there instead of the longer ride to the dam, it paid off. Fastguy passed us and some guide whose name escapes me came by a bit later on but did not stop. My memory is going as I approach 70.
Who needs a trolling motor anyway? Anchors Away! All fish caught on chrome slabs from MOE'S except the Crappie of course.

Forgot to mention that Don's Port is re opening on April 20th, should have gas on water, ice, drinks, etc. Restaurant and Marine service should be up and running soon.
