What do you think? What's better for colder water kayak fishing? I have neoprene waders now, but I have thought about making a change. A wetsuit seems less bulky and a little more comfortable. Waders are good, but I'm wondering how a wetsuit would be.

A diving wetsuit properly fitted would probably be uncomfortably snug for a fishing trip. Really cold...waders. If it's mid-50's air and water temps...nylon waterproof rain pants and rubber boots. That's my formula, anyway.

I like to use hip waders, less bulky more comfortable and if you get the ones with boots, makes it easy to get in and out quickly not as much work.

I got a pair of breathable chest waders with built in boots. Love them but got some dry rot cracks in ankle of boot. Any repair ideas?

Marine Goop or Plumber's Goop, sold at the big orange place. I think they are both the same product, just marketed differently. Stays pretty flexible and sticks to just about everything. You can use it to waterproof deck fittings and glue transducers in place, too.

I like the breathable waders. I tried the neo's but I never felt comfortable in them. A lot of people swear by them though.

I agree breathable chest waders, and I got a pair from BPS for $89 and turned out to be pretty darn good.

Chest waders for sure but you don't need them now

When its under 40 degrees a Farmer John neoprene suit is the only way to fly. Even has a 2 way ziper for us guys. no binding in the shoulders and it is really warm. Neo boots and gloves to match and Under Armor long johns against the skin. NO COTTON. You are toasty at the end of the day.
