Just wondering if anyone knows any other public access spots on the Leon up around mother neff park or farther down river towards gatesville. Been fishing a lot between mother neff and the lake. Am I in the wrong place. I'm new to the area and I here different stories everyday.

I grew up in Oglesby and there are several places to fish the Leon near Mother Neff. The difficulty is explaining how to get there to someone not native to the area. If you turn off 107 onto Mother Neff Rd (not sure if that's the actual name of it or not but it's the road that goes into Mother Neff from 107), you'll pass a rock quarry on your left and about halfway down you'll find a field on the right next to an old horse barn. There's a gated entrance that's unlocked. As soon as you pull into the gate there's a wooden pole standing upright by the driver side window with a box on it. Sometimes it's stocked with envelopes and sometimes not. It's an honor box the land owner put there. Put 5-10$ in it(it's a donation so however much you feel appropriate)and you have about a mile of bank to fish. Just be respectful and CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF.
Good luck finding it, I think it's pass the first bridge and before the second, but don't hold me on that. Fished there for 20 years and can almost drive to it blindfolded, but damned if I can tell someone how to get there.
