I was thinking on hitting Texoma tomorrow and was wondering what part of the lake has had some good action? I usually launch at lighthouse and fish around the mouth of little mineral and the flats but did not know if it would be better to launch at highport and go around the islands or south of the islands. It has been 3 ;years since I have gotten on the water at Texoma and not sure if all the ramps are ok to launch and how hard it is to get shad? Thanks for any and all help. Steve

I was thinking the same thing for tomorrow. Is the lighthouse ramp closest if your coming from DFW? We are going to try and be out there around 630.

I am not sure if highport or lighthouse but I have always done lighthouse because it does not have all the traffic as highport. I have not been in a couple of years so that is why I am asking also the lake is up like 3 or 4 feet so not sure on ramps.

All ramps are good to use .. Water levels are fine.

Fish are all over the lake so wherever you launch you shouldn't have to go far...lots of fish right near mouth of LM and on flats just north of there.. Tons of fish at or around highport as well..

This is one of those times of year that I can burn less than 5 gallons of gas to catch limits of fish...
Lots of birds working most days..if no birds I suggest drifting on shallow flats from 10-30 feet.
Live Shad working awesome.. Naana colored sassy's from moes tackle most days working just as well..
Don't know how easy bait is in LM but I do know it's starting to spawn right at daylight..look for birds working along the banks and that's where the Shad are spawning..
Most of the bigger fish are spawning right now but hot and heavy actioN on good box fish..
Big fish oughta be back very very soon and then all he!! Is gonna bust loose..

JD is right! and he gave us a clue where to start around the islands. Look for shad balls on the surface best depth seemed between 15 and 25 feet. Thanks again JD for the advice!

You can find good fish close to the lighthouse. There has been some great bird action just outside of Little Mineral Marina most mornings. With overcast skies called for tomorrow it should be on. I will be in the area. Look for me if you need any more help.

If you are trailer backing challenged go to Highport. Ramp is narrow at Lighthouse.

Went out yesterday with my dad. We started at the mouth to Little Mineral, near the flat by the last point in the LM cove before getting to main lake. We had several small stripers and one 20' hook up within the first 20 minutes, but it was very slow after that. Couldnt figure out if they were deeper or shallow. We chased one school that was hitting the top, but they just kept going deeper and deeper. I am assuming they were in deeper water. We were staying in 15ft - 30ft of water with most of our bites coming in the 25-30ft area. We were off the water near noon, but I want to go again. Awesome day to be on the water smile We caught all our striper on yellow swim baits
