Bass are fair early on topwaters and slog-o's. Most of your best action is in deeper water 18 to 25 foot, fished around creek channels and humps with brushpiles.(c-rig worms) Some of the coolest water is in the Three Fingers Area (91degs.) and the schooling action is best there in the after noon. Over all the bite has been slow and the schooling action is lite. For more reports on Fayette County and Lake Somerville go to (fishingfayettecounty.com)

Its not bad at all. The week days are really good, at most 8 to 10 boats and thats all . The very hot temps. and some what slow fishing has been keeping almost everyone away.

Rick, I remember reading in past years about the awesome schooling fish action on Fayette. It seems like most of the stories I read said the major schooling took place in September. Does that still happen pretty regularly down there? Is September still a good time to come chase schoolers?

Thanks.

In most years past, yes they do school in September and mostly bigger fish will be schooling. But this year has been so slow for schooling bass, I can't say what will happen in September. They would almost have to start schooling better soon. But one thing I have not seen this year is a lot of bait fish in the main lake. Yes there's bait fish there but not as much as years past. The schooling is there but just a little slow.

Good question, I don't no why that is. I need to look into that and see what can be done to have the parks listed. Go to my website and click on information and than click on any one of the parks in red. I have tons of information there about the parks.

My guess is they are LRCA parks, not state parks. We've stayed there before. Very nice camping area.

TPWD would give LCRA grant money to refurbish parts of the park? I would think LCRA has deeper pockets.
