I have been a stalker on this forum for a while but usually in the spring. I am trying to figure out how to catch those slabs. I rarely have much luck. I grew up catching largemouth then went to whites and hybrids now trying crappie. I never had anything to offer but today was different. I know it's worthless w/o pics but haven't figured that out yet.
Dad and I fished for three hours this morning and hauled in 35 crappie, smallest one was 10.5". Nothing but keepers. Mostly males 12-16" in 2-4' of water. We just stopped in a small cove and it was on! I have learned a lot from you guys here and it worked today. I only have a 10' Jon boat with trolling motor so we took dads boat today. He lives on Tawakoni and he was glad to have such a good couple hours on his home lake. Hopefully I have more reasons to post in the future. I will post pics when I figure it out.

Of course I'm always willing to learn and can tag along with anyone that has an empty seat to offer just about anytime. rolfmao

Congrats on a great day and welcome to the forum.
What lake do you primarily fish?

Usually fish Tawakoni since my dad has a boat and lives on the water there. I'll take my Jon boat in the creeks at LA and Benbrook during this time of year. We will chase hybrids at Cooper from time to time also. I'll fish anywhere I get an invite to or can talk my dad into using his boat on.

Congrats and welcome to the dark side my son. There are a lot of people on this forum that absolutely know their stuff and are happy to share. We've all profited from that.

Great report. Welcome aboard!

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

Welcome to the forum my fellow Angler. I go fishing with my Dad Dutch1947 all the time...nothing like spending time with your family while fishing especially your dad. If you want to catch something while fishing then JD Slabslayer and Sac A Lait Pat...those boys can sniff out crappie from 100 miles away! smile Hehe...great people on here. I've learned much from my TFF family over the last year and everyone is very friendly. Welcome aboard...HOGON!
