How do you rig it and what is the best way to get the most action out of it in 1-4 feet of water?

I've tried fishing the Devil Spear a number times. Overall I haven't liked it as well as a few of the other Havoc plastics. I'm not sure the best way to fish it, I think maybe I haven't stumbled upon that yet. Here is how I have tried it;

-texas rigged on a 3/0 EWG gamagatsu hook (with and without bullet weight)
-texas rigged on a 4/0 EWG gamagatsu hook (with and without bullet weight)
-3/16th Neko weight in the nose and a large drop shot style hook wacky rigged

I just haven't caught as many fish with the DS as I have the Wide Load or Craw Fatty. Could just be a case of user error though.

I'm starting to think that all of the Havoc baits are trash. The grass pig? Ugh.. threw those away.

I have had pretty good luck on the devil spear. I started out flipping it for something a little less bulky, and then used it as a jig trailer that looks different than every other one with craw claws.
