on the water by 11 a.m.headed up the creeks nothing around at all.not many boats on the lake at all.went north before 2 mile bridge and found the fish in 23 ft of water.caught a mixture of sand bass and small hybrid.it started to get windier and more over cast.then i heard a buzzing noise coming from the top of one of the rods in the holder,i could see sparks coming from the top of it!next thing my dad got a big shock from his rod.next thing there were a couple of lightening flashes.we decided to head back to the marina.120 fish caught ,would have done over 200 if it hadnt been for the storm

That happened to us on Texoma a couple years ago. I felt it first & told my brothers. They thought I was full of [censored] until one of my other brothers got shocked & dropped his rod. That was all it took. We got out of there as fast as we could.

Glad you got off the lake safely. +1 Just saw that on River Monsters where one of the camera men got slightly hit by an "invisible" spike. He lost his sense of awareness, then they carried him off but he recovered later.

Happened to me on Lewisville. The storm was way off to the south. I had a fish on buy I felt stinging in my hand. I looked down and sparks were trading from my reel to my hand. Scared the heck out of me. Got the fish in and headed to the barn.
it's all in the wrist

Todd that happened to me a few years ago, still recovering. My wife tells me all the time I have no sense when it comes to fishing.

I would have called BS until a few weeks ago was on Hubbard while a storm was approaching. Saw lightning a few times and heard a weird buzzing noise and couldn't figure what it was. Put my ear closer to my rod and oh chit my rod was buzzing! Reeled in fast and haulin azz out of there.

Glad ya got out of there. This lake will give you an experience of a lifetime, a nd then do it the next time out
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
