I've been talking to a few guys about a match play tourney and right now am just trying to see if there would be an interest. Thinking of a 16 or 32 angler tourney (depending on interest) $100 - $150 per man entry. Pay back 100% 16 pays 4 32 pays 6. We would all fish one opening lake on the same day. Then each match lake and date would be determined by the two anglers that advance you would have up to 10 days to fish and turn in results. Once the two winners advance to the next bracket your 10 days will start. The tourney should take up to about 30-35 days to complete. Example of pay out with $150 entry 16 teams 1st - $1000 2nd - $650 3rd - $450 4th - $300 Anyone interested let us know. If there is enough interest I will get it set up.

Is this just going to be for the DFW area? If not, what other areas will it cover?

I figure the opening match will be around the DFW area just because it is centrally located. But as you advance if you and your opponent agree to fish OH Ivie on Thursday then you will be able to do that. There will be a default lake on the 10th day in case you are not able to agree on a lake and time. It will probably be the same as the opening lake.

This will be individual. You could still fish 2 to a boat if wanted but the co-angler will be responsible for having a boat as he or she advance. Also thats why you have 10 days to agree with your opponent to match that way it doesn't interfere with prior obligations.

So basicly you want back to back bye's. That wouldn't be fair to everyone else. Everyone looks for a tomatoe can in the first round.

This was tried by Bass Champs a few years back and was also done here on the TFF about 5 years ago. Didn't really go over to wel. To hard getting guys to arrange the time and lake. Good luck though.
