Hello guys

Need help with figuring out a problem with my 175 Mercury which is a carbed motor. Was at Choke canyon yesterday and the boat was running fine until my daughter got some line caught in the prop. I stopped to get the line out, tilted the motor all the and when I let it back down it refused to start. I kept trying for about twenty minutes until I finally had a friend tow me back to the ramp. Tried several times at the ramp with no success. Battery was fulled charged. Any thoughts? Thanks

AJ

Pump the bulb. You probably draing the carb bowls when you tilted the engine up.

Check the gas line connector at the motor.

I tried pumping the bulb and checked the gas line connector. All good. Seems like it wants to start and never turns over. Has me perplexed.

Check the basics: fire then fuel

You problably flooded the engine when you tilted it. Fuel runs out of the carbs and into the air handler box. When you tried to refire it...it could flood itself. I would pull the bottom four plugs out. Crank it for 30 seconds (it may want to fire off the top two plugs while doing this) Reinstall the four plugs and fire it up......
