South of 26 on Texan Trail there's a gas station on the right that has them. Not sure when they open. As far as spots if you launch at Katie's Woods head West down the South bank. You'll come to an island. Try around it at varying depths. I'd start in the 15-20 ft depth. You could also try some slabs and flies. This is for white bass. Catfish are spawning in the backs of creeks. Crappie should be in the shallows all over. Good luck.

You should look on humps, slopes and ledges with access to deeper water. I might try the Meadowmere area as well as the Murrell park area. Good luck. Let us know how you did.

Sandies are starting to stack up around the island. Went yesterday evening, if you throw out a marker, it draws in all the other boats in the area.

People need to learn how to read their fish-finder.

Just saying, thats all!

If I waited on them to find the fish, I would spend half the day on the water chasing boats from one end of the lake to the other.

It just is what it is.

The birds are the fish finder half the time. I'd say follow the birds, but following the boats would be the same thing smile

Gvine is back to its old form in terms of idiot boaters. I fished it Saturday evening with my daughter and saw several boats out way past dusk with no lights on. The other problem is the trend of pleasure boats to replace their front nav light with headlights. Many of the ramps are closed and those that are not a packed with slow loaders. When I got to the Katies Woods at about 7 pm the wizards had turned the two lane ramp into a single ramp by repeatingly taking their half out if the middle. Their was a long line that included two honda civics towing double jet ski trailers. Seeing this...I decied to go look at the other ramps. Dove Loop was open but its dock is not usable. The others were closed. By the time the I got back to Katie's Woods the rip raft had cleared out and I launched my boat.

There was also a cabin cruiser with strobe lights, a disco ball, a speekers blaring the Bee Gee's.
