 Favorite baits for channel cats spawning?

Just wondering what everyone likes to use when they fish the channel cat spawn...around rip rap, willows, grass. My go to has been peeled market shrimp that been sitting out for a little bit. I seem to have pretty good luck with so I've never tried anything else. What do y'all like to use?

I used to kill on bait shrimp around the rocks on Ray Hubbard. Thread shrimp on a 2/0 hook, no weight and a thill cork, using a rubber band to hold my depth.
A nice 3 count once the cork disappears and drive the hook home.
Prolly just use a slip cork with the same success.

For me it's shrimp and CJ's shad flavored punch bait anytime I'm fishing for channels, regardless of spawning.
Fish the shrimp on small circle hooks so I don't have to pay attention to them and keep the CJ's rod in my hand if they're biting good, which they usually are when I'm using CJ's : )

I would say Git You Sum SureShot but I am contemplating some Bob's from the recent reports.
I think a Crappie-Egg based bait would be a great concauction for the Cat's during the Crappie-Spawn but just my .02.

I 2nd the CJ's shad. I caught 8 in about 2 hours on that stuff.

Secret 7 Dip Bait is my first choice. +1 If that ain't workin though sometimes I can get 'em to hit some cut bait (bluegill is what I use most often). Seems atleast to me that sometimes they just want something thats more on the fresh side, rather than the normal "stinky" baits you'd normally think of. I've seen days when it didn't matter what you threw at em, they'd gobble it up. Then I've seen many other days where there is that ONE thing they want, and no other bait in the world is gonna do you any good. The more I learn about catfish the more they facinate me. I don't think I'll ever shake my love of catfishing if only because they can be SO different from day to day. Kinda like women, am I right?

We used both Secret 7 and Sureshot this weekend and caught them all on Secret 7 and only one bite on Sure Shot. All Channels.
