Never owned one but am looking for a pithi and flippin rod. Will be pitchin anything from 1/4oz Texas rig to a 3/4oz jig.The 3 I was looking at were:
BBC-5-1610 A 6'10"H said for pitchin 1/4 to 3/4oz 12-20lb line
BBC-6-17 A 7' H said for Carolina 12-25lb line 3/8-1oz lures
BBC-7-17 A 7'H said for Carolina 15-30lb line 3/8 -1oz lures

Let me say I do fish alot of heavy cover and fish a few big fish lakes. I would like at least a 7footer but don't know if the two Carolina rods are heavy enough but not too stiff for me.Any experience will be apppreciated. powdr

Both C-Rig rods will have a little more action in the tip then the 6-10 rod.

The 6-17 is what I use. Actually I have all 3 of those rods but if I'm right its the 6-17.

I have all 3 as well. 7-17 rarely gets on deck. I use the 6-17 almost exclusively as my light to medium flipping rod. MUCH lighter than the 7 power. Not in action, in overall weight. The 7 power feels front heavy when I put a H2O Mettle, Curado or Citaca on it. Don't like the balance.

Flipped quite a bit this week in the flooded brown deer grass and Cinnie Bean stuff on Sam Rayburn. 3/8 and 1/2 oz Tungsten with Baby Brush Hogs and Lizards. The 6-17 is sweet. Haven't had a 3/4 oz on it, but wouldn't hesitate. Also been using it for my Ribbit Rod. No probs loading it up when they run into the hay. Might be a bit light for toading in pads, we'll see later this month when they start to pop up. But this is definitely one rod I'll probably get a couple more of.

The 5-1610 is my go to for Senkos, Flukes, and Skinny Dippers. The shorter length makes it easier to roll cast if needed and increases my accuracy when fishing up around bushes.Very light and makes it easy to distinguish the Tick and then Mush bite associated with deadsticked baits.

The 7-17 has had a 3/4 oz C-Rig on it since I first put a reel on it. That's probably about all I'll use it on unless I need to cast a big football head jig this summer on deep ledges and humps.

Keep in mind, the Bucoos are a great mid priced rod. Good option for someone wanting to get into a split handle for + or - $100. But not meant to replace the Lowriders or Caras. They are built on the Falcon Original blanks and are strong as all get out. But you can surely tell there is a weight difference when fishing them for 5 or 6 days straight.

Powell Park recently started carrying them so I felt obligated to fish them so I could give unbiased reports to potential buyers. So far, 2 thumbs up. IMHO, the best $100 rod on the market.

Thanks RBO, great review! I think I'll go w/the BCC-6-17.Probably never get to 3/4oz except maybe in the summertime so it should suffice for a good all round flippin stick.I've already got a 6'10" bionic from BPS to take care of extra fast stuff. Thanks again, RBO. powdr
