Never fished Arlington before. Anyone have any tips of what to throw/where? I have cabin fever and need to wet a hook Sunday.
I have heard of a permit fee? Where do you get it and how much is it?
Thanks

Mike, The permit fee is something like $5 for a day or $30-35 for the year. You have to go the ramp by the Sail-boat club and go to the office. If there's no one there, just take a slip out of the mail-box by the door, fill it out and put the money in.
As for where to fish, I can't say. I started fishing it a lot last summer and know where to go in warm weather.....not a clue in this stuff.
I'm about to get back out there myself and see what's going on. My guess....somewhere near the hotwater discharge, along the rip-rap at the dam, or the old road-bed that runs across the lake just before you get to the island. Just guesses, though.
Good Luck.

There was a report last week where someone caught one weighing 9 lbs off the concrete wall. Other than that, you may want to fish the outlet....

Well, I made the mistake of going to Joe Pool Sat. to pre-fish for a tournament there next weekend. Wish I had gone to Arlington instead. I do my best fishing around the docks at the upper end of the lake. A 1/4 oz. bitsy jig with a half of a craw in watermelon does the trick for me. I've also done well on a XPS medium crank in a sort of clear brownish color. Crank it until it hits bottom then craw it slooooowly across the bottom. 3 to six feet seems to be the right depth. Directly across the lake from the Bowman Springs ramp you'll find some grass or weeds that run all along that bank (east side). If it warms up the North bank from the water "inlet" across from the Arkansas ramp. There's a good rocky point there and you can find some fish along that bank to the next inlet. Hope this helps. I'll be there weekend after next for sure ....the water ought to be just right! Ron

You have to pay a city fee for a boating permit for Lake Arlington. The fee is for the boat not for launching the boat.
