Trying to trouble shoot '04 250 yamaha efi/'06 skeeter zx250. I've lost about 8mph or so on top. The motor just doesn't have that snap on top that it used to. Setup/weight in the boat is the same but with the pedal to the floor i'm probably down close to 350rpm. It's all i can do to get it to 65. It's going in for a fiberglass touch up (oops) on monday and i guess i'm gonna have em run a compression test on it while it's in. Could it be something in the hotfoot cable? Any ideas are appreciated.

check to see if your throttle is opening all the way. it takes to people to do this. change out fuel lines including bulb and all filters. and spark plugs

Gained any weight lately?

Check for dings in the prop, swap the spark plugs, buy fuel from another station, and add a little seafoam to it. That's where I'd begin, assuming weight, etc., was all the same. Hot weather doesnt help either, you know.
