If i shine a light on the screen i can barely see anything. If i don't shine a light on the screen i can't see anything. Its a new unit that i just bought and hooked up. I however did not hook up the power wires to the gps receiver or connect the gps puck to the unit. I have power and transducer hooked up and that's all. ////////// i hit the power key and turned the light power all the way up\\\\\\\\ and still can barely see a picture. Any ideas?
P.s. Whoever had the brilliant idea at hummingbird to sell high tech gizzmoes to rednecks without a paper/readable in the middle of the lake instruction manual, needs to get kicked in the mouth then come to my house and hook up this unit for free!!

Is this all screen views? Are you powered direct to the battery. I have seen low voltage/current flow cause this issue. Also depends on color pallet on SI/DI and sensitivity level. I would try bumping up the sensitivity and try other color pallets too.
DO no power the GPS Receiver it receives it's power from the unit.
If you want a Paper Manual call HB Customer Service they can get you one.

Yes it is in all screen views. I can go thru all of the menus and change every setting. I can see the screen if i hold a flashlight directly to the screen. Gps works, temp works, background color works, but the screen is just very dark.

Make sure your battery is charged mine did the same thing. Also make sure your connection are good as well on the back of the unit.
