@texasmegafishadventures, what lakes in texas are the regs for flattheads 5+? you're allowed 25 catfish period in any lake unless tpwd specifically says you can have more i.e. palestine, and those 25 are in any combination

Palestine is slap loaded with flatheads. Heck yeah it is....so I can have 50 catfish, doesnt matter how many channels or blues as long as only 50, and only 5 over 20 inches?

As far as I know Channels and blues are completely different in regs from flatheads. Your 5 flatheads arent together with your 25 channels and blues under statewide regs. But palestine may be different.

i read in the book and deerstrangler has corrected me on that too, unless the laws changed this year it is 25 in any combination

On the website it says 50.
Fishing Regulations
For blue and channel catfish, there is no minimum length limit. The combined daily bag and possession limit for both species is 50 fish, of which no more than five can be 20 inches or longer. All other fish are managed under statewide regulations.
So 50 fish (channels or blues, in combination as well), if I get that many, and 5, no matter the species (channel or blue), may be over 20 inches correct??
Was going to email a game warden but couldn't find any email information...The "fishing regulations" excerpt is from the TPWD Lake Palestine page.

I am sorry, I meant to say you are allowed 5 flathead catfish over 18".
The correct interpretation of the lake Palestine regulations means that you may have 50 blue or channel catfish in any combination adding up to 50. Of those 50 fish, only 5 may measure 20" or greater. I.E. you may have 30 channels and 20 blues or 1 channel and 49 blues.
For flathead catfish you may have 5 measuring 18" or greater.

It's also packed with small yellows and also what i think are bullheads...it has its share of big flatheads as well
