Lake Fork

Water Temperature: 73
Water Clarity: 2-3’

On Monday, I fished with Steve & Sandra Mayo and we caught 16 bass and who knows how many crappie. We really need some cooler weather, the rainfall that we’re receiving is great for both the fishermen and hunters alike but both outdoorsmen need cooler temperatures. There many fish up shallow. Infact, if you stayed with one particular way of fishing I believe you could catch well over 25 bass for the day. Fall is one of my favorite times of the year to fish because you can generally find several patterns and baits to catch fish. We caught our fish on wacky rigs, Carolina-rigs, spinnerbaits, jiggin’ spoons and Chuck-n-spins. Our soft plastics were watermelon seed, watermelon/red and June bug. We fished them in, over and on the edges of hydrilla and on main lake, secondary points and humps. Fishing the deep side of the humps as they drop-off into deeper water, keeping the boat in 20 to 26 feet. For all of you who fished with me over this past week and are mentioned in this report, “Thank You” and I look forward to fishing with you all again in the future! The crappie are still biting better than I have ever seen, if you would like a crappie trip with me let me know. We can stock your freezer for the winter. I have asked my Dad to help with crappie trips should I get busy, so “LET’S GO FISHIN’!”

If I can be of more help or assistance regarding a trip or “Bassin’ Class” please contact me at 972-414-5189 / 800-965-0350 or by e-mail at FISHWJEFF@msn.com. The “Fat Girls” are up and can be seen at http://www.fishinwithjeff.com and you can receive more information on my full-time guide service & "Bassin' Class." At this time I do not have another one scheduled but should you or your Club, Organization or Church be interested in a “Bassin’ Class” please contact me and we’ll set the next date for one. I am currently booking trips for this Fall and taking reservations for next Spring 2001, weekend dates are beginning to go, I still have some available but not a whole lot. Fall is here and we really need some cooler temps like I stated above. Fishing is good but I think once we the water temperature gets into the mid 60’s we’re going to see some very healthy “Fat Girls” weighed in! Until next time…………….Good Luck & Tight-Lines!!!
