Flows from dunlap to Mcqueeny and eventually to dunlap. Just warmer the further down you go. I haven't been on McQueeny in a LONG time. I used to like fishing the lily pads with weedless topwaters and the boat docks with plastics. The river portion is a lot like Dunlap so fish it about the same.
Fish on!!!

I would definately go to McQueeney if I had the option. Just make sure which ever 3 you do pick, to get on and off the water early. The wake boats will be out in full force this weekend.

Dunlap is going to have a lot of boat traffic on it this weekend. If you do fish it I would be off the lake by 10am. As for Placid or Mcqueeney. Placid to me is the most difficult lake to fish out of the three. I have fished all three lakes a ton of times throughout the years. If I had a choice between Mcqueeney or Placid I would choose Mcqueeney. Also keep in mind Easter weekend and all three river lakes are going to have a lot of traffic on em. Good luck.

I am glad i asked.... i forgot how buisy this weekend was gunna be onthe water (everyone and thier mothers is gunna be out) sooooo i am gunna take my yak out to placid next weekend... someone asked about dunlap advice..... wellll i alwyas launch my yak from under i-35 and head down to where the little "creek" is, that "creek" is really a discharge from a water treatment planet (i think) i take my yak all the way up and there is always good fishing for sunnies, rios and small bass up there, i use tiny crankbaits and always catch a mess of fish. as far as larger bass i throw cranks and drop shot soft plastics along the shoreline up and down stream from the little creek... always catch a few, best colors are natural ones, most of the lilly pads from the creek on back to i-35 always produce a few nice LMB.... i dont usually fish the main part of the lake due to the fact i kayak.... but dunlap has always prduced many nice fish... i find um with shad Raps and once i find where they are i switch to drop shot soft plastics, my go to is a green with red fleck crawfish... hope the dunlap info helps fellow dunlap kayakers. i have looked on google maps and i cant seem to find a place to launch a kayak into McQueeney... does anyone know where any access spots are for McQueeney?
