I am going to be in San Antone at the end of June.
I am going to sneak down to the coast and fish for a day.
should I got to Port O'connor or Corpus to fly fish?
Anyone have a guide recommendation for me?
let me know any suggestions that you might have.

go fish in Port O'Conner. the fishing is great but everything else sucks. I wasn't impressed with Port O'Conner at all, except the fishing. but if your just going to spend a day down there you'll be fine. i had a great trip with capt tom horbey. http://www.captaintomhorbey.com/index.htmlcaught lots of fish, reds to 30", jacks, and some big lady fish.

Cool Jack! How common are those in Inshore waters in S TX? J. If you hit right areas they are pretty common, on more than one occasion I have found them tailing in 1' of water. I think this year is going to be a good year on the coast, we started summer patterns almost a month early and the fishing has been insanely good. With the exception of the bay, there is a brown tide so it has made sight casting tough.

If you only have one day, go to Port O and get a guide. I don't know the Port O guides personally but the fishing there has the promise to be phenomenal if you hit it.

Fishing is really good in Port O, think you will find the water is clearer and lots of tailing reds. Lock your stuff up. Had a buddy get three rods flash stolen out of rocket launchers on my boat when we went inside a gas station to get a six pack of waters.

Booked a trip with Captain Tom Horbey....will update the experience. Also have an additional day to venture out on my own...does anyone have recommendations for wade fishing around Port O'C that does not require a boat or kayak? FYI this is my first time fishing the TX gulf.
