I have used several home built ones and most of them worked well. However, I have the best retrieval rate when hanging up while fishing from a boat than the bank. You are limited in getting the angle needed to retrieve when fishing from the bank. I will be happy to try your's out Streak. Or is this one of your riddles/jokes, and when you "roll em out" as you said, we will be our %$# off?

RedTop, I would not do that to you hon! LOL!!! Some folks may laugh at the retriever but it's simple/stupid design will work! You are right that while they will work from shore...you're better off being in a boat or a barge where you can get a better angle on the snag. That is very correct. I have a feeling you'll like this one.

cbs FishingCoach, may be the cheapest, however, I have tried that one and the snap swivel sometimes gets stuck and won't let the weight do it's work.

Streak, put my order in for 2, I'll try anything to save the cost of replacing another lure hopelessly stuck in a log.

My lure retriever, a small cheap dollar general, padlock with a key (mid size padlock). I unlock it, and then lock it over the string, and drop it. It goes down to the crankbait, and just "lightly" bounce it back and forth, and up and down, and it usually will get the lure free. Now, if it dont..."dont blame me...it was only a Buck! Hey, dont laugh, this "rig saved a great crankbait on Toledo Bend!"
