I used the Pro-Tungsten this past weekend at Amistad with the inserts and they did not fray my line at all... it was my first time trying tungsten and to be honest I didnt really notice that much of a difference

Tungsten with an insert will not fray your line. Polished-bore tungsten like the Picasso (TruTungsten) and Strike King will not fray your line. A non-polished bore tungsten, or one with the insert removed, WILL fray your line.
I have a bunch with inserts, but all I buy these days are polished-bore. Plus, if you fish braid much, getting it through the weights with inserts is a p.i.t.a.!

I get mine from tungstenwts.com and have had zero problems polished bore no inserts he also has inserts also. If you cant tell the difference in tungsten and lead you must be useing such a stiff rod that you cant feel anything you can literally feel everything and just about tell what it is useing tungsten weights.

River A Tackle's tungsten weights are all I use. Polished bore and are coated unlike most other companies that claim to being the cheapest on the Internet. Call TFF's own Carlos Rivera @ (817) 658-5351 and ask him about his product. You will not be disappointed.

Fouz, Actually, the tungsten with inserts will fray your fluorocarbon line. I was having problems with this last year and James Caldemeyer told me about the insert free weights and recommended changing to them. Yes, you have to use the polished insert free weights, but I have not had a problem since.

Chris Brewton @ Dominatortungstenweights.com are the only weights I will rely on. He has insert and insert free weights that are smooth bored. And the price can't be beat!

I give another vote for Strike King. They're small, don't fray line, and the colors stay on.
