Well Kyle, I just got back from from 5 days there. You probably wont see this, but maybe it will help others. We fished in the Devils River area mostly and a little at 277 bridge. Best pattern was baby brush hogs in 4-8 feet on the bushes. We faired better on the main river, but it was hard to fish due to wind. No big girls (broke off twice). We averaged 25 fish a day and the bite was definite after lunch. Some schooling in the evenings in the mouths of deep canyons.
Had one evening they went nuts for 30 minutes and we smoked them on top waters. Good fun!
The lake is down 20 feet, so if you go alot, take some good notes (I did).
Also, I have doubled my catch rate there just by going flourocarabon. 10-15lb test works best. Good luck!

Fished Amistad last week. Fished up the Rio Grande. Fished creek channels and grass beds. Also fished drop offs. Used soft plastic such as worms and salamanders. Boated a lot of fish but nothing big. Had one over five pounds get off. Fish were caught in 10 to 20 feet of water. Launched out of Box Canyon. Lake is low but I heard they have stopped letting water out. Good luck. You should do well. fish

Fished Amistad Sat and Sun. Biggest was 7.1 in 7 foot of water on Tiki Stick in watermelon red flake shakey head rigged less than 1/2 mile from the Box Canyon launch ramp. Wouldn't you know it, my wife caught it on her Zebco 33. She told me she was hung-up in a tree. Good times for sure!

At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!
