I stopped by a pawn shop on my way home from work last night to take a look at their fishing gear. Much to my delight, they had just brought out 4 curado e7's paired up with falcon caras, asking only $50 bucks each and they are all basically brand spanking new! I'm obviously pretty freakin excited about the amazing deal I got. Just wanted to share and tell everyone to check into their local pawn shops pretty frequently. Anyone else have any awesome pawn shop finds?

When I go into the pawn shops, the crooks usually have the stuff marked ABOVE list price...... be careful what you buy!
I needed a drill one time and the pawn shop was a dollar higher for a used beat up drill than Walmart for the SAME new drill!

Awesome deal man. I hit the pawn shops all the time when I was in college. 95% of the stuff was overpriced, but if something in the 5% that was a good deal was something you needed, it was awesome. I bought a new in box Ryobi corded drill for $12 at a pawn shop about 10 years ago and I've beat the tar out of that thing since. Probably the best $12 I ever spent.

Do most pawn shops bargain like they do on Pawn Stars?

I've gone in looking for tools a few times and have found that for $20 more I can go to HD or Lowes and buy same thing brand new.

yes, the will bargain or haggle, you do not know until you ask. I always leave a card and tell them to let me know if you change your mind. I have received calls the very next day.

Go the last few days of the month, when they are trying to make their numbers.

Purchased a $275 SHOE helmet for $75, looked never to had been worn, came with a bag and extra lens and a few other items. Still had the invoice in it from whereever whom bougth it and it said $274.99.

Not necessarily. It's extremely possible that someone needed some quick cash for bills and whatnot and their rods and reels were something of value that they could part with for the time being. Lord knows I've been there plenty of times needing money for tuition.

Keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better...Great find and not judging...if you didn't buy it, the next one would. Just sad that it is likely hot....Otherwise, they would sell it here for quite a bit more.

being cheap does not mean the goods are stolen. the pawn shop will sell them for whatever amount they think they can get for them. they do not take into account if the items may be stolen. I agree that pawn shops probably carry alot of stolen merchandise...but to assume that they were stolen because someone got them for cheap is pretty dumb. Great find John, I may stop by a couple pawn shops after reading your post. and like stated above...if I dont buy them, the next guy will.

if you look at the price tag there are numbers on it besides the price, if you know the code, you can tell when they took it in, and what they paid for it then. The pawn shops in Memphis hate me cause they all use the same codes and I can usually get it for about half of what they are asking.
