Ok, I'm sick and tired of this spawn [censored]. All the fish have lock jaw. I have decided to stop fishing till the spawn in over. Any one know when that will be?

The spawn hasn't really started yet on Belton Army. It's the 4400 cfs release that's slowing the bite down. Wait until they stop releasing and the lake settles the bite will get better. Doesn't stop me from fishing though because you never know.

Well after spending 2 days at belton and only a carp to show for it. And throwing cut carp, minnows, chicken gizzards, chicken hearts, chicken liver, beef liver, frozen shad hole and cut, and fresh shad both live and cut and nothing. I didn't know they were releasing water out of there though. I might go back to fishing the little stocked ponds on fort hood. But they aren't biteing ether.

I'll be honest. I'm not shure how to even get to the dam. I'm still trying to figure out a way to fish the lampassas river.

Up and coming spawn is helping me, they don't have lock jaw, it's just everything has changed. Look in different spots than you were catching them. FEEDER CREEKS and rivers are hot right now, flooded timber, and shallow coves or points. I know you are wanting a big flat head,so for you the season is just starting, keep on em bud you'll get em.

Try shallow, flooded stuff, in the grass, trees, weeds, natural baits worms, crickets, caterpillers, stuff you wouldnt normally bait up with. Mesquito larvae right in the grass you can bet mr wiskas got his lips in that menue. Especially if deep water is close. After these rains they will gorge themselves. Might try at night too. If you are near a boat ramp and banking it them trees right beside the concrete. Excellent place to sit and relax,
