We spent the last 7 days at Cypress Bend, the night fishing was awesome. The grass is really grow fast & should make for some incredible summer fishing.
We fished Tennessee Bay, Millionaires Point, Indian Mounds, Housen Bay, Six Mile, & Mill Creek. Millionaires Point & Mill Creek was tops for numbers while Housen & Six Mile produced the best size.
Top baits were buzz baits from later afternoon till an hour or so after dark, then Texas Rigs & Jigs-N-Craws until right before day break then we switched back to buzz baits. Gene Larew Camouflage Ring Worms were # 1 for both size & numbers & a Lunker Lure oz buzz was the buzz bait of choice.
When in doubt set hook!

I went out last Friday and it was safe enough to run most of the lanes. You'll see a stump or two, but the water is just right and you can see the shape of the boat lanes b/c most of the stumps are 2' out of the water.

BB Texan, Are the boat lane markers in place or are they gone? Do you need to know the area you are running to safely run? We have a club tourney going out of Alpine in Palo Gaucho and it can be tricky to run south if the markers are not there or not in the correct placement

I really can't speak for the south, but I left out of Alpine and ran north of the bridge. South should be even easier. One thing I do know is when heading south out of Palo Gaucho heading by the bluffs stay to the west and south side of the markers. Once you make the turn into open water it's not bad. The markers (last year) were pretty close to all the stumps.
The locals have helped out by marking(pvc) alot of the stumps that showed themselves during low water.
I think I only saw two out of place on my trip last Friday. If in doubt idle and get your bearings!! And don't follow people! Sometimes you think they know where they are going, but they just don't care about stumps! In the past I have almost got in trouble that way!
