Went out today for the first time in a kayak and did pretty good, about 50 total of catfish, crappie, and sand bass. Was going to see if anyone wanted to try em tomorrow. Would love to chase some hybrid if someone wants to show me how. Sorry no pics right now new to the forum and not sure on the whole photobucket thing yet.

Shark Lips,

I have found that the Hybrid & Stripers often run with the whites but are normally on the outskirts waiting for an easier meal. Sometimes its as simple as moving from school to another school to get into better numbers of better hybrid. I know it's hard to leave the 15" whites when they are feeding for a chance at a harder fighting Hybrid. but, most times the same sized fish tend to run together. perhaps its so the smaller ones dont get eaten when the frenzy begins. There are a few lakes where i have seen almost nothing but hybrid schooling and Tawakoni is one of them. They are exciting!

especially when the bigs are surface feeding! instead of throwing a small lure and steady retrieving it, you might try a 3/4" -1 ounce slab or large spoon and bounce it of the bottom vertically. this & throwing a big swim bait, as well as simply increasing your lure size can help you come up big. IMO Towok is a good trolling lake too. so, while your moving from one area to the next dont b afraid to pull something.
Hope you come up BIG. we want to see some big ones in your Yak & signature!!!

best of luck! thumb

Well woke up Sunday morning got everything ready then checked the weather and it said a lake wind advisory was forecasted. Didn't want to risk it two days in a row cause Saturday I got caught out in little storm that blew through. So just stayed home and did some rigging on the yak. Btw thanks for the info Zombie I'll be looking for them hybrid next time out.
