Rar bob just now at pool and noticed today letting it out for couple of days now, lewisville up and pushing it out. What happens if we have a summer like last year. Dont understand the logic on this one. I know the lakes are for water not fishing seems this time of year they would want a little surplus going into summer.

they do it every time. They are afraid if it rains again it can get too high and they can't let it out quickly.

April showers bring May flowers.
Because there is no way to forecast the weather exactly, the Corps and others who make the decision on what to do with the water have to guess on lake levels. If it floods in a couple weeks they will get shelled for not letting out enough water and leaving the lakes so full. If the rain does not come and the lakes get low this summer they will get it for not keeping the lakes brim full.
Also there is planting season down south and the farmers need extra water to make a crop.
Its a decision. I cannot criticize them for letting some water get out of some lakes. I do wish there was a way to channel the water to some of the lakes in the state that remain so low.

How much rain would it take to make the lakes flood enough to be a real problem? We got widespread 3-6 inches of rain less than two weeks ago and most of our lakes only came up 18 inches to three feet.
