New to the area and fished Conroe first time ever. Been fishing out of Choke last few years. Lake is pretty demanding on first impression. Especially for my first time on it. Caught 8 in about 4 hours. Any advice is welcome. Since I don't know anyone in the area that fishes the lake I would be open to carrying backseaters that are experienced on the lake to help me learn it. Especially after dang nearly killing myself near the First Jungle in what I thought was a boat lane. Went from 10 ft to 1 ft I'm a severe sphincter spasm second.

PM me when you want to go. I'll take a ride up there with you and show you around a little bit.

Will do. Thanks! I fish out of a Skeeter 190 SX.

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an un-scarred and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways holding a 10# LMB in one hand and your favorite rod and reel in the other, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow! What a Ride!

I don't own a boat but know the north end fairly well-Sometimes I fish with some friends on their boats that fish Tourneys. Shoot me a P.M.if you want to go anytime. I fish ALL THE TIME! I'm able to fish durnig the week often.

I'm in the same position. I got my boat last year then we had the drought so I've only been to Conroe a few times. I like it but so far it's be rough. It's been a lot tougher than I expected for February-March. It's so big and there's been more and more traffic.

I've figured out that the first jungle area up north can be really dangerous. I did have someone show me the way through the trees. When I first went up there the water was lower and you could see the stumps. Now, you've got to rely on your gps and take it easy in area you aren't sure of.
