Just wondering because I went out to Bear Creek this Saturday didn't even get a bite but there was a [censored] load of carp in the river . Just wondeing if bass tend to leave or not go into an area if carp are present.

No I've seen a ton of bass on beds when the carp are up shallow thrashing the water. I may be wrong in doing this, but I usually always look for beds when I see the carp because I know the water will be right for it.

I was wondering this myself, we were fishing a tourney today at Amon Carter and went back in a creek and the carp were all over in there.

We fished it for a bit, but then left because of all the carp thrashing around! Maybe we should have stayed a while longer!

i've seen carp take over smaller lakes...muddy the water up so bad, the bass fishing kinda of fell apart...but it likely depends on how many there are...a small group of grass carp, probably aren't as bad.

I fished fork on the 23rd-25th of march and we seen a ton of carp and a ton of gar thrashing in the grass that has been out of water for so long. The bass never seemed to mind it. We watch groups of gar 4-5 swim right over bass on beds and they never flinched. I'm guessing they were taking advantage of all the insects and critters that were in all the newly flooded grass.
