Dont waste your time on the Trinity..... no fish in there...... lol Im j/p. The Trinity is probably the most overlooked bass fishery in all of Fort Worth. The problem is finding spots to launch. Benbrook on the other hand can be REALLY tough. I like to stick to the area around the dam and fish there. If there is any kind of sustained southernly wind you can forget about it though. it will white cap sometimes with 10mph around and is a beating in a kayak.

Cool i live off of bryant irvin and ive seen a couple places where i think i can put in pretty easy on the clear fork it sucks that you cant eat the fish out of this section of the river even though the water looks pretty clear most of the time but i wouldnt chance it either

I've never been to Benbrook in my yak. It's one of the windier lakes in the area. If you are will to drive 15 min, try lake worth. Its great for LMB and there is a slew by the spill way where you can catch sandies all day. It's one of my favorite kayak-friendly lakes.

Clear fork is great I love it. A lot of water is coming benbrook lake is releasing at about 1000 cfs. It's only 2ft over now so it should be releasing at 300 cfs next week sometime and it would be better fishing. So if your like me leave the long boat on the racks and get the whitewater kayak out for some playboating at Trinity Park today. Be better fishing on the river next weekend!

There are plenty of places on Benbrook that you can go to and not have problems with the wind. Mustang creek, Rocky creek, Bear creek, and alot of coves with plenty of cover. I have found if the wind is out of the south go to the south end of the lake and stay fairly tight to the shore and you will be ok.

I live near Azle in NW Tarrant County... Where are some good launch points on the Clear Fork and which parts are recommended for both fishing and just paddling? My ACK Launch Point apps doesn't seem to identify any.

For just paddling on clear fork try putting in at river park by bryant and Irving rd and have vehicle at university dr or I will normally take at the whitewater kayak pak in trinity park which is also on university. Some places will probably need to be portaged in a long SOT kayak or a SINK without a skirt. But if you have a whitewater kayak, get some! And let me know when so I can tag along. For fishing not saying any specific spots but go further up stream and look for deeper holes by the bends and dams and you should good right now.
Flows have also just been dropped today to 300 cfs so its back to a lot better fishing level

Thanks for the tips on Clear Fork launch points. I have a MR14, so I'm definitely scouting out points farther upstream for fishing. The part of the branch running thru Fort Worth doesn't interest me as much due to the dams and lack of good structure.
