I mostly fish by myself - would always accept the offer to back me in - just no one ever offers. On top of that I am disabled (wear braces) so I am a little slow just to make sure when I am getting in and out of my boat once launched I dont run my fishing trip by falling. What would really help is a good place by the ramp where you can always beach your boat. With my Hamby bow protector it really helps in getting your boat out of the way so just as soon as you move your truck the ramp is clear. Bridgeport Wise county park is that way. At the ramp at Trophy club park on Grapevine they dont even have a dock and when you unload by yourself you have to beach back on the ramp to get out and move your truck which blocks it for everyone, but you have no other options.

Never pull your boat out of the water without hooking it to the trailer..I don't care who you are, are how good you think you are at loading and unloading, boats will slide backwards. That boat aint goin' anywhere unless you got trailer slicks Tell that to the guy with the Bullet sitting on the concrete halfway up the ramp I saw at Possum Kingdom last year. No slicks, no nothing except carpeted runners. Not the first time, won't be the last. Hook the boat up before you head up the ramp. Cheap insurance. Or tell that to they guy who dropped his on the ramp at LFM.

As I turned around, I see an old guy walk over to the second headlight and knock it out with a hammer as well. With out a word being said, he walked back to his truck threw the hammer in the bed, and continued backing down his boat. After seeing that, I no longer forget to turn my lights off.... ". That's what I'm talkin about. Let em know your utterly insane and they'll get out of your way. Great story if it's true!!!
