Well, just got in from Caddo. Water level looks exactly the same to me as it has over the last month or so. Its pretty low. Put in at State Park and followed the river all the way around to Johnson Ranch. Gets down to about 2-3 ft in a lot of areas. Tried a few ditches and could only go so far before it got so shallow I didnt' want to go any further. Didn't do a whole lot of fishing and only caught a few small ones. Was more of a sight seeing thing for my dad. Water temps were down to 69-76.

sfa,
They've been getting some rain this week. Let's hope Lake of Pines fills up soon so they'll release some water!

I find that most of these sites listing water levels are a bunch of BS. I saw somewhere that Lake o the Pines is 2.5 feet low. What a joke, its a lot lower than that. The north end of the lake looks like a cattle pasture with a creek running through it. Caddo is down, alot. I was able to drive from the State Park to Johnsons Ranch with no problems. Water was as low as 2.5 feet in some areas. Just gotta go slow. Can't run around in the areas you once could. I don't know where TPWD gets its lake level info from but it is very inaccurate.

The Lake level reports I submitted are not TP&W, They are Army corps of enginners! They show the level of Lake of the Pines at 225.60, the normal summer level is 230.00, that puts it about 4.4 feet low which is pretty acurate..

I can agree with that. I was more referring to the TP&W ones but I do doubt that the lake is only down 4 ft. I think the Corp maybe playing with their numbers a bit. i don't really understand how they come up with those #'s or whatever so I could be talking out my back end but if you have been to the north side of the lake lately and seen that it is basically a creek running through the middle of a field you might think the 4.4 is a bit off. I just hope we get some serious rain soon.

The Corps are right the lake is at a record low right now and a lake being 4.4 feet low can really affect it. Your naked eye is not better than high tech water guages.

Ok, let me say it this way then for you technical people, Areas of the lake up north that have 6-8 feet of water in them that I regularly fish are now out of the water. Maybe that equals 4.4 ft low, I don't know how they measure that stuff. At any rate, it is very low.
