From what I understand...Genada in MS and Reelfoot in TN is like visiting the Holy land as it applies to crappie fisherman....but from what I've ALSO come to understand...if you are only concerend about numbers....learn your lakes here in N/NE Texas...they are awesome fisheries....however...if you are trophy hunting....not only will you boat limits (given the right time and skill level)...but you will come in heavier than you can in most places....think of it like whitetail hunting in the midwest...you won't see as many bucks as you see in most places in TX (south TX excluded because you will see several plus several big) but the big ones that you do....OHHHHH boy....

I think it's the genetics of the crappie in Grenada.

I wish TP&W could introduce some of the Grenada strain Crappie into Texas lakes.

Grenada pulls people from all over the U.S to go there to catch big crappie and spend there money.

Texas has spent a fortune to bring bass fisherman here.

I just got back from Grenada and had a great trip with Ronnie Capps what a top notch individual. We ended the two day trip with 65 Keepers with the top five being a 3.04, 3.02, 2.7, 2.6, 2.5, and a lot of 2.25 fish. It was tough on Sunday with the water rising and we only caught 25 keepers with a few over 2 pounds, bt Monday we made a change and it was on. We caught fish all day with all the big fish coming from that day. I can't say thenk you enough to Ronnie as we unloaded at daylight and loaded the boat back up after dark, I don't know of any other gide that would do this, but he said he wants to make everytime on the water count and he will stay as late as he can. Again it was a great trip and can't wait to go again!!!!

Awesome trip guys. Ronnie Capps is one great crappie fisherman and a class act for sure. After that kind of trip, you'll be throwing rocks at RayBob.

I come up with 29-lbs. 5-oz for his 10 fish total by adding up the weights of the 10 he listed. With only 3 fish over 3 lbs., it's obvious the total isn't going to exceed 30-lbs.

Still a heck of an average weight for 10 fish!
