I still remember the day I told my brother in law (who got me into bass fishing) the day I had purchased my 6th set. I called and told him I thought I was good now because I had 6. He said, "nope, you need at least 11"...I laughed and said he was crazy. I now have 16 set ups. I will say for tournaments its extremely helpful to be able to switch to a different technique or bait on the fly by having so many rods. Just call me another bass tackle addict

I have 15 in the boat but only 6 on the deck most of the time. I find it easier to pick up another rod and reel than to dig out a backlash. lol

A good selection of rods & reels is like a good set of golf clubs. Each one has it's own use and application. While I have over 30 rods and reels set ups, depending on the season, style of fishing etc. on a particular trip, I will take about 15 set ups with me in the boat and usually have about 1/2 that many out of the rod box for use. And if you take good care of your rods and reels, they will last you a long time. I have a few combo's that I have been using over 20 years and they still perform well.

I usually have 13 in the boat. Most days I pull out and use 6-8, maybe 10.

I read Jimmy Houston's book several years ago. He said every time he gets close to a non-tournament fisherman who sees 12-13 rods on his decks and asks "Dang, how many do you need"...

He answers with a question of his own. "That depends. How much time do want to spend fishing, and how much do you want to spend tying on another lure?"

Due to my taking family members out fishing I put about 12 rod/reel combos for them to use. I have several LH baitcasters despite being right handed. Fish n cynic beat me to the comparison tween golf and fishing, having only one rod is like playing 18 holes with one club, it can be done but not well. I have 4 or 5 rods with different lures on them that are ready if I determine the current one isn't producing satisfactory results.

Long time bass fisherman, in Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, West by God Virginia,Minnesota,Indiana,Canada and now my new home state of Texas.

Someone jacked your tires!!!!

I have 10 baitcasters and 2 spinning set ups. They all have a a particular use. I thought I would never have a bunch but got real tired of changing baits on two set ups all the time.

I think if you have the ability to have 80 rods then go for it. I personally only use one at a time though rolfmao . I have 6 combos but only really use half of them on any given trip and still catch plenty. I make sure that I buy the best I can afford and keep it simple and versatile. I don't have the ability to take that much gear with me since I'm in a Pond Prowler so if I did I may be singing a different tune.

ALL mine are lefties, but I'm right-handed. I don't know how many I have.

Need to improve my LMB fishing, running out of time.

i knew somebody would catch that i almost pulled it to the side to take the pic
it was my first baitcaster.. :\
really didnt think to much about it when i bought it kinda makes it awkward swithcing back and forth

If you still have the box just take it to bass pro and tell them someone got it for you as a gift and you want to trade it for a right hand. Might work, worth a try.

Weak. I have more Crankbait rods for Falcon then that.

Purchasing orange and white rods is no way to start a collection off.

I know this sounds crazy, but I change out lures on a set-up. I am still working on my collection so I kinda have too. Sometimes it is fun to only take one rod and reel. You might retie several times though.
When I am a guest on another person's boat I try to limit myself to 4.

I am up to 10 bass rod/reel combo I use plus probally 5-6 other rod/reels collecting dust and a few for messing around with small ponds/creeks and 3-4 fly rods!

Its fun to buy new things but I tell my wife to stop me but it does not work.
