My nephew and I are going to Ray Roberts for the first time and only have Saturday and Sunday morning to fish. We need to know anything to help find some good pre-spawn, or spawn fish, and a decent place to stay Saturday night. How crowded will the lake be this time of year?
In remembrance of my lifelong friend Jerald, king of the topwaters on Lake Fork...2nd to none....In God's care and our hearts.
Regards, Clay

Roberts is a big lake. Fish biting in every place. Slow down when you get to the poles, Lots of places to fish cant say about the weekend but not very crowded during the week

There have been a lot of boats on the lake on the weekends. The only place to stay close to the lake is Lantana Lodge in Jordan Park. http://lantanaresortmarina.com/ As far as fishing, just put your troller down and go. You can catch fish doing anything right now and you will run into a 5+ lber every now and then. If you are new to the lake, don't run these areas shaded in red.

Nice Map adam_p I too will start fishing this lake soon as they have expanded my territory at work to include the cities surrounding the lake. Where's a good place to put in. I've got customers on both sides of the lake in Sanger and Tioga so either side will work. But I don't want long runs to fishing areas. Where is best to unload!

I would put in in Isle du Bois or Johnson Branch....both are state parks and there is better security for your boat/truck there....alot depends on the wind though. It can Hawk up there so take that into consideration when you choose a launch site. always have a shad type lure on....I have been out with clients and had the whites erupt....lot of fun to put 30 fish in the boat in 10 minutes.

overnighting in Isle du bois and Johnsons branch SP is alot of fun...clean safe parks and nice campsites. This time of year a tent is fine....but we all know how summer is here. AC in your camper or death (well... it feels like death)
