Going once maybe twice a week I can keep it on there up to 8+ months and not have anything wrong with it. I have noticed segaur invisx to have hardly any memory and last forever. I would only need to respool if I ran out of line on the reel.

The combos that I use most often give me less memory problems than the rigs that I only use seldom. I use InvisX. I don't change until the line gets 1/4 down or so. I spool with mono underneath.

I use berkely 100%. I never have any memory issues. I respool the fluoro when I have cut too much off. Usually once per season, sometimes twice. My C-rig rod is going on its 3rd season with the same line. I used it today with no problems.

If you have a reel spooled with Fluorocarbon, and your not going to use it for a while, unspool (is that a word?) Your reel back onto an empty fishing line spool & keep it in the fridge. It has a larger diameter than your reel, so it will re-shape back to the original spool. Just remember to mark which reel it came from.

I use Berkley 100% and change it about once a year or once the spool gets low from retying and have never lost a fish because of it and I don't have a problem with memory. My feeling is if it isn't causing me a problem why mess with it.

The majority of line issues occur at the knot and fisherman not checking for frays or knicks. It is very rare that line will flat out fail. I find that the rigs I use most have less issues with memory and only need to be changed out once per year to year and a half. I use Pline ad have never had an issue. The same methodology goes for my Trilene mono.
