I have monitored this website from time to time and found that 95% of the people on this website post their pictures and brag about how many they caught (ie. how big their b@lls are) or what they caught them on and maybe how deep. Sharing information on where to fish is not something people share with some they know or don't know.

Just telling you the truth - as it is seldom heard or told in today's world.

Are you kidding me (ie. how big their b@lls are). OMG Any fisherman worth their salt, and take info like how deep they are being caught, color they are being caught, and go find fish.

It is hard for me to believe YOU EXPECT to get on the site, ask WHERE guys are catching fish. Most of the guys spend countless hours building & sinking Brush Piles, or hours logging and running shore line with their Sonars, Side Scans, and Down Scans looking for places to fish. Money on Equipment (Electronics, Boats, Trolling Motors, ETC), Money on Gas to the lake, gas on the lake, time in the hot sun, and time away from their families.

Everybody has other things they could be doing, but choose to spend SOME of there extra time trying to figure out where the fish are, or building structures to invite them to a given place, so when it is time, they can go catch a few fish. Hey, we would all like to play more golf, hit a bucket of balls, hit a few balls at the batting cages, or just relax a little more sitting on the couch watching TV. But the guys that are catching fish, are working at it. And are not going to post up infomation, GPS Cords, or anything else that is going to give away locations of possible fish they have found.

It amazes me that you get on here, not want to put out any effort, and expect someone to GIVE you locations to catch limits of fish. Then should someone give you a spot, you bring your best buddy out to fish with you, catch fish, then they bring one of their buddies, and on and on, then the fishing hole is burned out. Because you have nothing invested, no time, gas, money, effort, etc, etc.

So, please excuse the guys (ie. how big their b@lls are) that don't give out info or GPS Cords to the holes. Their just kind of Chicken Chit that way. You want to get on here and learn something about the sport, then there is guys willing to help all they can. But if you looking for someone to meet you at the boat ramp, and give you a couple of limits of fish, good luck with that.

I'm not one of the guys (ie. how big their b@lls are), but I have been helped by most of the people around here. I'm looking for infomation to becomes a better fisherman. I put in a lot of time and energy, but have never ask for a location. I have put in SEVERAL Structures & Condo's, and I would never give away the location of them, but FIND them and there yours.

I doubt you will get more than colors, depths, and technique.

Now I am trying to figure out why you got all sideways on a man who was simply stating how it is. He was complaining at all, he simply told the guy good luck getting that information. It's this kind of behavior that discourages people from posting on public message boards. Jeez! Relax. And one more point I would like to make, if a fisherman is taking time away from his family to put in all this work for a dang fish, well friend, that s.o.b. has got his priorities all messed up. IMHO. Just my .02

I am relaxed, and I understand exacted what he was saying. I did better than I thought. 13 out of 14 understood what I was saying. Everybody But You. Never had a problem with the orginal poster, it was the post that you seem to identify with. Then it was this phrase (ie. how big their b@lls are) that got me as you say, SIDEWAYS. Undoubtably he had ask several questions in the past that didn't get answered to his liking. I really thought that he didn't understand, so I explained it the best I could.

But, I do tend to notice the little things, like "that s.o.b. has got his priorities all messed up" then at the bottom of your signature the Proverbs 13-3 Bible Reference. I like guys that set examples, don't you. Just, I've never been one to stradle the fence. opinion.

Ha. Some folks just need to read Proverbs 13:3 and perhaps they would get the irony of this thread. Anyways, good luck and catch a big'un!

Ok...I don't post much and I don't ask alot of questions, but a simple fact that I am going to point out is that the two "users" of this forum that seem to have the most negative things to say about it have 33 posts between them in 6 years of membership (combined of course). So if you're looking for a handout here, you've confused the TFF with Obamanomics.
Now, if you are using this great site for starting points as to where the fish are (generally speaking) then you will not find a better resource.
As many have already stated, most of us have logged countless hours on the water (and many of those WITH our families) to find the most productive areas and we absolutely will not simply give those out...especially if you have posted 23 times in 6 years..and I'd venture to guess that not ONE of those posts included a fishing spot that YOU shared.
I am limited to strictly fishing from the bank or from my tube and have NEVER asked for a specific location as I know just how difficult it can be to find an area that will produce year after year...and giving that information out to someone who obviously isn't giving any information can be detrimental to these areas. I tell you, you tell 3 friends, they tell 3 friend, they tell 3 friends...etc....and the area that you decided to share is overrun and you wind up having to spend countless more hours to find a comparable location...SOOOO, it's very naive of you to think someone is gonna give that to you.
I have over 50 lake maps with me in my Tahoe on every fishing trip....I study a lake on Google maps before I go and find likely locations where the fish should be holding. I take any information that I get from this forum (i.e...water temp, water level, depth where fish are being caught) and I use that coupled with everything I've learned over the past 36 years and I can catch fish.
So what I would say to you (that I haven't already) is remember the information that IS shared (and freely I might add)....learn the fish's behavior throughout the seasons....spend some time on the water and use that gray matter between your ears to apply ALL of the knowledge and you won't have to ask where everyone is catching fish.
With all that being said, I am thankful to be a part of the TFF. I live way out here in West Texas and I have to travel great distances and spend tons of money on gas to fish, but I can always rely on this site to get a feel of what the fish "should" be doing when I'm headed to the lake. And, I truly appreciate everyone's willingness to share ANYTHING...no matter how big or small that information may seem to some.
I took a true friend fishing yesterday...it was his first time in 20 years to go fishing. MUD-DABBER (a member on this site) was very helpful in letting me know where to start and how the fish had been behaving. We ended up catching 30 or so crappie (keeping 20) before we switched to spinnerbaits so my buddy could experience some bass fishing (yes...I know, I know...those pesky trash fish but I compromised for a friend). Anyway, we caught over 40 bass ranging from 2-7 pounds and we had a blast. I didn't ask anyone to give me a spot so we could catch some bass. I simply used what I do know about the fishes behavior, the weather, and the structure we were fishing and we had a blast. Just my two cents that turned into a dollar, but I'm with you Keith. I think this all would have been alot less offensive if the original offender (the second poster) hadn't started in with the name calling...so like Anthony said...it's just fishin'!! Go get em boys and save a few for me when I head to DFW in three weeks for my vacation...and feel free to IM me your best spots....LOL
Good fishin' and God Bless

I see the comments and you would think someone is trying to rob a person of his fishing hole. We all love to fish and that is the reason we go to this site. Its nothing wrong with helping someone some time. You can't go wrong with that. You cannot worry what the other person will do. Just do the right things youself. Live a good life and be happy. We can all fish together.

Hey, Kid, I'm betting you ain't no kid. Kids are not that level headed. If you are, please consider a career in politics. On second thought, forget that. All politicians are lieing sacks of fish poopoo. Good luck Kid.
