I fished a spot three weeks ago before all the rain. Water temp was 66-68 and clean. Main lake temp was 57-60. Caught around 75 big females and kept a one man limit. This weekend i took the kids.....main lake temp was 66-73 back in the creeks it was 67-69...... Cooler in the creeks. The long nose gar were everywhere!! Stacked up in 4" of water like firewood!!!! They were spawning. You would see one large female followed closely by 3-4 smaller males. If i saw one gar i saw 250!!! I fished the same spot as weeks before, same depth same temp and didn't catch one fish. So in yalls opinion is the crappie run over? I wouldn't think that the gar and crappie would be spawning in the same creeks at the same time. Where do y'all think the crappie were hiding at?
it's the crapy days that make the good days that much better!!!

Not too late yet - go fishing. Still catching them full of eggs - some not fully developed yet.
