Thinking about taking an evening run out to one of these lakes to fire up the boat one night this week. Been hog hunting too much and haven't been fishing at all since September. It's time to do something about it. Any advice or reports would be appreciated.

Whatcha fishin' for? Reports have been that Dunlap is pretty muddy, and when it's like that the fishing can be pretty tough. The lakes further down stream would be my choice. They are more stained the further down you go and the run off should have less of an effect on them.

Sorry, I am looking for bass. I have never been on Placid but thought I might give it a try. Something different atleast. I guess if Dunlap is muddy, it might be time to give Placid a try.

This past Saturday was my second trip to Dunlap and did fairly well. Managed to catch around 25 bass between two of us with the biggest around 3lbs and missed another a little over 4lbs. Caught most of them shallow around docks with our bigger fish coming from 8-12ft water on isolated brush/wood. Hope this helps and good luck out there!

placid is money. there are some shallow stretches just upstream from the boatramp, but it is smooth sailing down to the dam. lilypads at sundown would be my best bet. it is just as good as dunlap in my opinion. don't know why more folks don't just head over there.
