There is a ramp on the southeast corner of 2946. I have no idea what it's called or if it's free, but I saw folks there today. It's closer to Birch than 515 W. I agree that 2946 is a bad ramp. I tried it once over the summer and almost couldn't get my little 17' boat out. The water is higher than that now, but I still have no desire to use that ramp again.

If I had a small boat and wanted to stay out of the wind and save gas and fish one creek all day, Birch is certainly a good option. I've only fished it a couple times myself, but it's huge and there's always a few boats in there, so someone must have caught a fish there at some point.

Birch is a great place to fish. Been there many times. Go as far back as you can get past the 2nd high lines on the left. There is a good creek back there that usually holds some good fish this time of year. You can launch at the old Vals just across the lake by the 2946 highway straight across from birch or the old rainswood ramp which is on the same side of the lake as birch. Vals is a better ramp if the wind is not blowing to hard.

I think Im going to try the free one just to save money and in case the wind picks up. Shouldn't take me too long, we want to fish duck cove and work up north. What all does my boat need if all my boat stuff is registered in Oklahoma? Is there a one day fish permit for a boat lol? I have my yearly fishing license for texas, just don't want to get a huge fine for launching my boat without proper paperwork. Thank you guys for the tips, hopefully I can post pics of a few good bass from birch creek =)

big hole in the middle of that free ramp. be careful. we used that ramp one day, and after that, decided it was worth the $3 for the ramp just across the way. just watch out for that hole.

Pay the $3.00 and put in at Val's.

The free ramp at Rainswoods is a joke.
