I'm looking into buying a new pair of glasses. I am looking at some costas but didn't know what lens is best for sight fishing. Or if someone thinks another brand is better let me know.

I have never owned a pair of costas, but can tell ou from reading reviews and posts on here and BBC the green 580's are what I see recommended the most often.

I've been wearing oakleys for 20 years so I'm partial to them. I think Maui Jim makes good glasses as well as Wiley x. I would find a place where you can try them on and find what's comfortable for you.

Green mirror 580's which have an amber lens or the silver mirrors which have a copper lens.

buy them on ebay. Way cheaper. I like the 580 blue mirror. Just be very careful becuase the 580 glass is very fragile. I have broken many a pair. Awesome glasses though.

I just bought a pair of Costas last week on ebay for a hundred bucks less than retail shipped. I bought the green 580 glass and used them this past weekend for the first time. After getting used to the amber lens over my smoke Maui Jims, I like them a LOT better.....

+1 for Costas

Don't they have the 580 with polycarbonite lenses? I have heard they are more durable than glass-

I've had 3 pairs of costas in 3 different lens colors. I swithched to the Oakley fishing specific half jacket with the shallow blue lens and like them way better than my costas.

definitely get them off ebay, you can get them with the tags on for 100$ cheaper. It helps cause youll probably break a pair eventually (ive broken about 4) usually do blue mirror 580, but the green with amber is supposedly the best. Best glasses out there

Ive got a couple pairs of the 580's in copper and LOVE them!!

I know people say the green mirror are the best for underwater visibility but I've tried both of them next to each other and you can barely see any difference if there is a difference and I personally think the copper looks the best wearing on a daily basis.

Also ive had the glass lens for a couple years and they still don't have a scratch on them whichever is where the glass lens excell. They don't scratch like the poly but have the possibility of shattering.

If you can avoid being rough to your shades go with the glass lens, there as nothing on the market as good as glass 580's for seeming underwater.

bought my first pair about 3 weeks ago. wont ever go back to anything else. I'm seeing things I never did before. Got the green mirror over amber. I paid retail, so I was able to try on several different pairs. BPS has a "polarized test" sign that I was checking out. 580 glass was alot more clear than the 580P. Try them on somewhere first, then hit ebay when you know what you want. Only reason I paid retail was because I needed them quick, and couldnt wait for shipping.

Green Mirror or Blue Mirror... the Green IMO is a little better in most lakes for sight fishing, but the blue is a great all around lens that you'll be satisfied with all year in just about all conditions. Dont get me wrong though, the Blue is still a great sight fishing lens.

I've always wanted some costas but never brought my self to buying any. I've been wearing the 20 dollar strike king polarized plus for a while, since I tend to lose sunglasses often, they r cheap to replace. I like em pretty good. I know they r nowhere near costas, but they do their job.

I love my Blue Mirror 580's.I do a lot of offshore fishing, and the blue mirror really is better i think out there, but I use them for every day use, and to bass fish with, and love them! The first time you look through them, its like looking in HD... Awesome glasses!

I just got a pair of Oakley Flak Jachet XLJ Prescription glasses with the Shallow Blue Iridium Polarized Lense and so far I like them. Kind of pricey on the prescription but so far so good.
