Ski boats normal wait until they are on the water to try and run you over.

like the man says...if you're swimming in the ocean and get bitten by a shark, its not a shark attack. You're in THEIR neighborhood. If you're at home in your shower, turn around and a shark is in there with you...THAT'S a shark attack

Tom, You missed it after that cigarette boat finally got off the trailer and was backing up, I think forgot he was in reverse and dang near backed over one of the BLT anglers in a skeeter coming out. By the time he realized it or the guy blew his horn it was too close, the cigarette boat slammed it in forward with both out drives trimmed up and about swamped the guy in the skeeter. I think its that time of season already!! I think guys with boats like that think they are the only ones on the water... I think I'm glad we missed that part.

It looked like they forgot something at home and was unhooking it so they wouldn't have to pull the boat home then back.
Thanks,

One of these days, I am gonna write a book about boat ramp stories. I am not kidding. You can take a family of four to a public boat ramp in the springtime and summertime and entertain them all day long with the sounds and sights of a public boat ramp. My favorite's are the wife's trying to back down the ramp while their husband is yellin obscenities at them from the boat over the sound of cigarette boats, outboards, kids splashing and screaming in the swim area right next to the ramp and the squeal of bald goodyears on a 1991 nissan truck trying to pull a 28 foot pontoon full of overweight aunts nd uncles up slick algae coated concrete. I could just go on and on.......................................................................

I saw a dude at eagle mountain with a nice bass boat trying to load by himself over and over and over.. I finally got out of my truck while parked waiting to launch.. He kept running the nose of the boat into the winch.. I finally yelled out to him telling him he had his trailer to deep in the water and would he like me to pull it up a little so his trailer would be at the right angle so the boat would go up it correctly.. I did.. He came over later after I launched mine and told me thanks for the free lesson.. Guess skiers aren't the only ones with more money than sense.. lol.. I usually shyt and get at the boat ramp just to not be in the line of fire of the amateurs.. Lots of drama usually..

Gotta love fork being high enough that the private ramps are usable again.

If you ever want to see a marriage crumble right in front of your eyes, watch a husband wife combo try to load or unload a big ski boat or pontoon. Especially bad on windy days. The yelling and crying will put any episode of COPS to shame.

My buddy was launching his boat in highport last month during the BLT tournament. He unlatched his boat just like every other trip at the ramp. Shen it was his turn, he swung a 180 on the ramp and proceeded to back in. The boat slipped off the trailer, sticking the nose up in the air. If the skeg hadn't caught on the ramp, the whole boat probably would have been off the trailer. A few guys helped pull the nose down so they could get it in the water. No damage was done to the boat, just a bent skeg.
He had fished the day before and that night the temps were in the 20's. The bunkers had froze to ice and acted like a slick ski slope.

I have to admit I unhooked my boat in my driveway last year after a looong day on the water and forgot the chalks...... I guess I was just worn out from the heat that day, but it drug me and my little flip flops all the way down the driveway and into the neighbors yard (luckily they don't have a fence). I was using those flip flops as concrete water ski's. My neighbor was sitting his back porch bbq'ing. When he finally stopped laughing he helped me line it up so I could back the truck back down the driveway and pull it forward. LOL He still makes fun of me when I see him, hahaha. It happens.....
